About

Welcome to The Living Principles of Public Art, a visionary initiative born out of the thesis work of Kate Ithurralde at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, as part of her Masters of Sustainable Design. Our mission is to provide a guiding framework for artists and art administrators, empowering them to align their projects with core principles that emphasize sustainability, community engagement, and artistic integrity. Grounded in the belief that public art has the power to inspire, transform, and connect communities, our project aims to bridge the gap between art and sustainability. By integrating principles of environmental stewardship, social equity, and cultural vitality, we strive to foster a new era of public art that not only beautifies spaces but also enriches lives.
