Collaborative Product Design
Fall 2023
Sustainability Focus: Selected sustainable design lens including LCA, material choice, persuasive design, marketing/communication, and circular design to apply to a product redesign
Final Project Objective: Collaborate with a design team and present sustainable redesign opportunities to Leatherman for their ARC multi-tool.
To solidify the emitional connection between users and Leatherman, the proposed engagement concept introduces “Repaired by Leatherman” stickers, a tactile representation of accompliment, these stickers, included with a purchaes of the multitool, can be proudly affixed to items that users have successfully repaired with thier Leatherman tool. This not only services as a subtle endorsment of the brand but also spreads the message of sustainability and self-resilian in an organic and persusive manner. It would be encourgaed to have the stickers made from recycled and/or ocean plastic.
Leatherman multitool isn’t just for the outdoorsy guys; it’s a versatile companion for the bold and badass girls who rock, and embrace the true spirit of empowerment. This proposed marketing campiagn will partner with local Girls Who Rock programs, like the program in Portland, OR.
